Powerful feelings such as stress and anxiety come and go, but they can have an external effect on us and everyone around us.
How we talk to others about our feelings can change depending on our differing roles in our different communities.
"Hard" conversations turn into effective communication when we can use our feelings to connect and inform instead of divide and dictate.
Talking about our feelings can be hard, but it's an important skill to learn. Recognizing our changing emotions helps us regulate them, but it takes practice. As an experienced educator, I've studied how social and emotional regulation impacts learning and creates environments of safety, integrity and belonging. I teach people how to include feelings in their conversations for effective and clear communication.
